How information about you helps us to provide better care - NHS England
Confidential information from your medical records can be used by the NHS to improve the services offered so we can provide the best possible care for everyone.

This information along with your postcode and NHS number but not your name, are sent to a secure system where it can be linked with other health information. This allows those plannning NHS services or carrying out medical research to use information from different parts of the NHS in a way which does not identify you.

You have a choice. If you are happy for your information to be used in this way you do not have to do anything.

If you have any concerns or wish to prevent this from happening, please speak to practice staff or ask at reception for a copy of the leaflet "How information about you helps us to provide better care"

More information can be found here

Patient Online Access

From Monday 2nd September 2013 we will offer patients the use of a secure website on the internet to:

  • Repeat Prescriptons direct from your patient record
  • Book appointments online ( 24 hours a day/7 days a week)

You must be a fully registered patient, over 16 years old and need a letter from us containing personalised access codes.  To obtain this letter you need to attend the practice and ask for a consent form for registration for Patient Access. ( Photo ID i.e passport/driving licence will be required).  Please keep these safe and secure.  You can connect to the website at any time and register.

How do patients get onto Patient Access?

You can visit this page by Clicking the following link:

The first time you use the site you will be asked to create your account.  Here you will need to enter the four registration codes gives to you by the practice.

Repeat prescription requests

Prescriptions can be collected two full working days after the request has been made. Once you are loaded onto patient Access you can view your medication items by clicking the list of your repeat medication in the repeat section of the screen.  Tick the items you require  and then make your request. You will see the confirmation screen, providing you are happy with the selectoion you made, click confirm.

(Repeat dispensing and NOMAD requests are excluded from this facility )

Booking Appointments

The on-line appointment booking facility currently offers appointments with doctors only.  You can book/cancel or check your appointment 24 hours a day.  You will have a selection of doctors appointments to choose from.

  • Some types of appointments will still need to be made via our receptionists, for example nursing appointments, baby checks, minor operations, coil fittings or complex appointments that may require a double appointment.
  • If you have a problem which is medically urgent, then we advise that you contact us by phone in the usual way.

We regard security and confidentiality extremely important.  Communications to the practice are encrypted, security is at the same high level as for internet banking.  It would only be possible to access your records using your unique PIN number/password.  Needless to say, do not disclose your pin to anyone, each patient wishing to take advantage of this facility needs to sign up individually and sign a consent form, stating that they agree to their record being available to them on-line.
